Balinese Rites of Passage

Hey our beloved reader, we got a project to post story about the rites of passage in my homeland . we choose  Nyepi for this project. well, nyepi also known as Silent Day too. Nyepi was a big festival in Bali that obligate us not to make any noise, work, light and activity out ours home sweet home. This festival held once a year and it's quite interesting festival. You know it by yourself, this case rarely happen in this lovely world, when there is nothing noisy, nothing light, nothing movement, and also we (people of Bali) are the only one who can stop the flight. Pardon, we mean NOT JUST an hour but for whole day , insane right ?  Bali which known as the Island of Thousand Temples and one of the most traveling direction which is always crowded and busy, suddenly turned into Dead island which is nothing like alive there , pretty scary honestly. Basicly Nyepi held for celebrated Caka New Year based on Caka calendar itself.
Btw, the night before Nyepi it's called Pengerupukan. We usually created Ogoh-ogoh and paraded it around the city. The Ogoh-ogoh basicly devil shaped sterofom, we used to parade it up to the field, very very super duper extremelly double triple large field, and burn it down in the midnight. And it symbol of Balinese people that had been succed of demolishing the devil. well, we think it's enough for this project , the last word we (gungde and safira) can say are thankyou for being such a good reader please leave comment and have a nice day. xoxo

Rites of Passage "Algonquin Indian Tribe of Quebec"

If you want to get your manhood stage, boys of the Algonquin Indian Tribe of Quebec are taken to a isolated place, often caged and fed an intoxicating drug known as wysoccan. Wysoccan, a powerful and dangerous drug that caused hallucination. The goal of this ritual was to force any memory of being childhood out of the boys's mind, but sometimes they also forget their family, identity, or even the ability to speak. For the boys who remembered their childhood after returning will taken back to the isolated place and given the second dose and forced to suffer for the second time.
